Plant care tip for beginners.

By

I originally became a plantmom because they were my reminder to open the blinds & let the sun in. It may seem silly BUT I would get into these grief & depression moods frequently & I literally would just sit in my room in the dark all day with the blinds closed until one day I learned that that was one of the biggest & most common side effects of depression. I started intentionally doing things to make sure that I let the natural sunlight in.

When I first began taking care of my plants I would get so frustrated because I would water my plants frequently but they would still wilt & die & then I learned through trial & error that that was a BIG MISTAKE!! I learned that I was actually overwatering and killing my plants!

So here’s a quick tip for beginner plant Moms & Dads :

If you notice the Leaf of your plant wilting & darkening check out the soil immediately. If the soil looks dark & feels wet that means that the plant has been overwatered & because of this, the root system is rotting inhibiting it’s water absorption. Cut off the rotten roots dry the roots that you cut & cover the soil again. Be very cautious of how much you water your plants going foward

Constantly seeing and being around plants can help you feel more calm and relaxed they also help decrease levels of anxiety. Increases attentiveness and memory. Being around plants, whether at home or work, helps improve memory and attention span by 20 percent and can increase concentration.
